Bridging the education gap in nutrition science and disease prevention


Various topics: 

* Date change to Fri. Nov. 8 @ 6pm FOOD ADDICTION 911: Are you struggling with food cravings? Do you find yourself eating foods that you know aren’t good for you, but you can’t seem to stop? Do you sometimes feel controlled by food? Learn to identify the root causes of food cravings and overcome them with powerful strategies to tackle them when they occur.

*Date change to Fri. Nov. 15 @ 6pm IMMUNE BOOSTERS & BUSTERSiAre you looking for ways to strengthen your immune system in your kitchen? This class explores foods and habits that can boost our immune system and those that deplete it. Hear the latest research behind immunity and what you can do with nutrition to easily protect yourself and your loved ones.

Nov. 21 @ 6pm REVAMP YOUR KITCHEN: HEALTHY MEAL PREPS: Do you wish you could go out to eat less, but are not sure how to plan meals at home? Are you looking to save money, while also eating healthier? Confused about how to put delicious meals together easily? Never dread the question of “What’s for dinner” again!” This class will teach you how to put healthy quick meals together and how to pair different recipes so you always have variety!

Dec. 12 @ 6pm SLEEP BETTER STRESS LESS: Do you struggle with poor sleep quality, sleep apnea, or sluggishness during the day? Learn about circadian rhythm, how sleep affects our health, the sleep cycle, the sleep process, how the body uses nutrients and hormone to produce sleep, and what foods improve sleep. Learn about the Oura Ring for tracking sleep quality, body stress, oxygen saturation, and temperature variation.

*NEW GET FOCUSED KIDS: Calling all parents and teachers! Nutrition and environmental exposures are so important during adolescence. “Get Focused” is a cerebral nutrition & cooking class that explores the gut-brain connection and how food choices can greatly affect our children’s brain function, focus, and mental clarity. Your instructor, a Certified Nutritionist, will share exciting research on how to help our kids and set them up for success during this period of rapid brain development. You will learn which foods can impair their focus and hinder their learning success while demonstrating delicious recipes you can easily prepare at home. The class includes a beautiful nutrition booklet, food samples, and life-changing information.

Who: Ages 18+

When: Thursdays 6pm-730pm 

Location: Community Center 3278 Whitehaven Road.
Registration Fee $15R, $20 NR per class Each Class includes video instruction, cooking demonstration, food sampling, and a booklet with material presented including recipes!
