2026 Grand Island 4th of July Parade Information
Fun and SAFE Event – see rules regarding safety and distribution of items from units – no throwing candy or distribution of items from unit – this must be done along the side of the parade route.

Drop-off: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–3:30 PM
Location: Grand Island Recreation Department
3278 Whitehaven Road, Grand Island, NY
- Late Applications: Subject to approval. If accepted, your unit will be placed at the end of the parade line up.
- Parade Overview
- Start Time: Approximately 10:00 AM (after the Dick Bessel Run)
- Route: Northbound on Grand Island Blvd (RT 324) from Staley Rd. to Baseline Rd.
(Route is ½ to 1 mile long depending on lineup location)
- Road Closures: Grand Island Blvd & Baseline Rd. close at 8:30 AM. No traffic permitted after closure times.
- Parking Advisory: Vehicles may not park on the road of the parade route (corner of GI BLVD /Webb Rd. to Baseline Rd).
- Vehicles parked at line up locations that are not in the parade must stay at their location until roads open.

Parade takes place around 10am on July 4. *Road closures around 830am to 12noon.
**Parade Spectator Policy (General public)
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants and spectators, please follow these guidelines:
- Stay Off The Parade Route
- All spectators must remain on the side of the parade route.
- Do not enter the parade route or cross the roadway during the parade.
- No Approaching Parade Units
- For your safety, do not enter into the parade route or approach moving vehicles, floats, performers, or animals.
- Children Supervision
- Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
- Keep children safely away from the parade route and moving units.
- Animals
- All pets must be leashed and under control.
- Do not allow pets near the parade route or performers.
- No Confrontations
- Maintain respectful behavior toward staff, participants, volunteers, and fellow spectators.
- Aggressive or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the event.
