Community Center Rental Information - Yr 2024
 
The Community Center at Nike Base Park is available for rent. This is a great indoor space to use to host any special event or meeting. The seating capacity is 100pp.


Basic Information:  

  • Community Center is available 7 days a week, from 9 am to 9 pm.
  • Rental time slots are 1-hour increments.
  • Rental is based on facility availability. We typically leave a 30 to 60-minute buffer between-group rentals.

    Rental Times:
    1. Rental time slots are in 1 hour time increments.
    2. Rentals are available daily from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Rental Fees: 
  • Fees are listed below as per adopted Town fee schedule:
    • $30 per USE for Community service groups & organizations. Requires Certificate of Liability Insurance (C.O.I).
    • $150 per YEAR for Community service groups & organizations. Requires C.O.I.  This fee must be paid in full as one lump payment. Previous per use fees will not apply.
    • $60 per hour for public rental – resident rate
    • $120 per hour for public rental – non-resident rate
    1. Fee schedule may be subject to change.
    2. Payment will be due in full upon receipt of reservation confirmation, or no later than 14 days prior to rental date. Payment not received at least 14 days prior to rental will be subject to cancelation.
  • Community Groups can reserve up to 12 blocks through December 31, 2024, with payment. * Additional dates beyond the initial 12 dates reserved can be reserved up to 2 weeks in advance of the requested date.
  • Renter must be present and checked in and checked out by Recreation Staff.
  • The community center offers 6-foot & 8-foot rectangle tables, 100 chairs, and games to be enjoyed upon request by the renter.
Games such as basketball shoot, foosball, air hockey, ping pong, gym playmats, and shuffleboard.
  • Ample free parking
  • Modern washrooms that are ADA Compliant
  • Heated and cooled building
  • The facility does not offer a kitchen or cook/prep area
  • Tables and chairs are not to be moved outside
  • No shoes & gum allowed on the gym mats
  • Glitter, confetti, and paint are not permitted
  1. Use of Recreation facilities:  Community Center is open to the public following the order of preference below:
    1. Town of Grand Island government activity
    2. Town of Grand Island Recreation Department or Golden Age Center program
    3. Town of Grand Island Community Service groups & residents
    4. Town of Grand Island private groups, clubs or organizations
    5. Non-residents
Rental Procedures and Guidelines:
 
  1. Rental Requests
    1. Renter must have an online account through the Recreation Department website. If you do not have an account, please create one, or we can assist to create one for you in advance of rental.
    2. Requests and payment can be completed online through the Recreation Department website - https://grandislandny.myrec.com
    3. In Person – To complete a reservation agreement form in person, call the Recreation Office at 716-773-9680 to schedule an appointment and to tour the facility.
    4. All rentals start as a request and are not final until approved by Recreation Department staff and payment is received. All online rentals will receive a RESERVATION CONFIRMATION with a PERMIT NUMBER to finalize your rental.
    5. Renter must be 21 years of age or older and is the legally responsible person for the group, including all minors that do not have a parent or legal guardian on premises.
    6. Reservation requests should be made at least 14 days in advance of the requested date.
Requested date(s) will be reviewed and placed on HOLD until approved. If Renter does not provide all necessary documents, agreements or other required information on time, the HELD dates will be subject to decline/release within 2 weeks from rental date.
